The masking templates 1:48 Ki-84 Hayate In and Out are for the glazing of the Japanese army fighter, cut for the outer as well as the inner side of the canopy.
Responsibility details are not available.
The In and Out suffix in the name means that the templates cover both sides of the glazing: besides the outer frames you also mask off the surfaces visible from the cockpit. The inner side tends to be the weak point of a build: when it is oversprayed, the shade of the outer finish shows through into the cockpit where the interior green belongs.
The Hayate was a late fighter of the Japanese Army Air Force, listed by the Allies under the code name Frank. It entered the fighting in 1944 over China, later over the Philippines and over the home islands, and it was among the few Japanese types that kept pace in performance with contemporary American fighters. The sliding part of its canopy has narrow, straight frames, so cutting tape with a knife is slow and rarely comes out straight.
Modelers who want the cockpit clean from both views. It matters above all on a build with the canopy slid back, when the inner frames are permanently on show. The fighter itself in 1:48 scale is obtained separately, as what you are buying here is masking only. For the same type there is also a set without this suffix, which covers the outer side of the glazing only.
