A resin accessory from the Czech brand CMK in 1:48 scale. This is not an aircraft kit but a replacement KM-1 ejection seat, which is swapped in the cockpit for the part from a plastic MiG-21 kit.
The seat is the most exposed item in the cockpit, especially if you build the model with the canopy open. A resin casting captures the shape of the shell, the padding and the guide rails more crisply than injection-molded plastic allows, and saves work on the finishing. The KM-1 is an ejection seat used on a number of MiG-21 versions; whether it matches the one you are building should be checked against the references for that version.
Wash the parts first in warm water with a drop of detergent so that the remains of the mold release agent disappear - otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, do not snap them. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is bonded with cyanoacrylate glue only; glue for plastic has no effect on resin. Before fitting it into the cockpit, check that the casting does not stop the fuselage halves from closing. Paint over a primer, bring the detail out with a dark wash and a dry brush, and set the harness apart in both shade and sheen.
This is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a model. The set is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
