About product

Eduard 1:48 Lavochkin La-11 mask

A set of self-adhesive masking stencils in fine Japanese kabuki tape from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for models of the Soviet Lavochkin La-11 fighter in 1:48 scale. The stencils are pre-cut to the shape of the glazing frames and the wheel hubs, so the tedious cutting of tape with a knife falls away.

The real subject

The Lavochkin La-11 was a Soviet postwar single-engine fighter with a piston engine, derived from the La-9 series. It was marked out by a long range and was used as an escort and reconnaissance fighter; it served with a number of states and was deployed in the conflicts of the turn of the 1940s and 1950s.

Use

  • First rid the glazing of grease and dust.
  • Carry the masks with tweezers and press them to the edges of the frames.
  • Paint the inner framing first, then the final camouflage.
  • Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers who want crisp transitions on the cockpit framing.
  • Builders who want to avoid cutting tape by hand.

This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. Neither paints nor the kit are included in the package.

FAQ

It makes it possible to spray the cockpit framing and the wheel hubs cleanly, with no hand cutting of tape and no paint seepage.

Of fine Japanese kabuki tape, which follows shapes well and peels off easily after spraying without damaging the finish.

No, these are masking stencils only. Both the paints and the kit have to be obtained separately.
