The Lavochkin La-5 is among the most important Soviet fighters of the Second World War. It came about by reworking an earlier type to take an air-cooled radial engine, which gave the machine its characteristically broad nose and at the same time a toughness that a liquid-cooled design could not offer. The airframe stayed largely wooden, which matched what Soviet industry had available at the time. The designation F belongs to the later form with a reworked powerplant.

The sheet is not tied to one kit, and you can use it on a model of this type whoever made the kit you are building.
Decals are applied to a smooth gloss surface; a matte coat under them will leave a white haze. Cut the decal out close to the printing, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it can be slid off the backing. Transfer it onto an area wetted with water, settle it in place and draw the surplus water off with soft paper, working from the center toward the edges. Over rivets and panel gaps a softener helps, and once it is dry give the surface a matte overcoat. The exact procedure is in the manufacturer's instructions.
