Eduard 1:48 Lockheed-Martin F-16C Block 25/42 TFace are painting masks for the glazing of a model, for the outer as well as the inner side.

The set contains self-adhesive painting masks for a model of the F-16C in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation means that the package holds masks for the outer as well as the inner side of the glazing. On a model with a large bubble canopy that matters fundamentally: the frame is visible through the clear part from both sides, and when it is masked only from the outside, the inside of the frame stays transparent and the illusion falls apart.
These are neither decals nor a model but an aid for painting. The base kit and paints have to be obtained separately.
Cutting masks from tape by hand is slow work on the glazing of a modern fighter, and a mistake shows at once, because the eye follows the straightness of the frames. Pre-cut masks are shaped to the particular part, so it is enough to lift them out carefully, stick them on and paint over them. The resulting edges are sharp and even. The Block 25/42 designation in the name specifies which form of the aircraft the masks are cut for.
First wash and degrease the glazing; on a greasy surface a mask does not hold and the paint creeps under it. Lift the masks out with a sharp point, not with a fingernail. Once stuck on, press the mask down with a soft wooden stick, above all around the edge. Apply the paint in thin coats, as a thick coat will leave a step when removed. Take the mask off while the paint is not yet fully cured, carefully and at a sharp angle. With the inner masks, think about the order of work, so that they are stuck on before the cockpit is closed.
This is a masking set, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
