Full-color displays and instrument panels for the fifth-generation Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II fighter in 1:48 scale, in two variants on one sheet.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lightning II gave up a divided instrument panel altogether. In front of the pilot there is a single large touch screen which the crew divides up according to the situation, and flight data is projected into the visor of the helmet. The classic round instruments have disappeared from the cockpit, which from a modeler's point of view means that credibility stands or falls with the artwork of the screen.
The A variant is the land-based version with conventional landing gear and an internal cannon, operated above all by the US Air Force and by a range of European and Asian users. Power comes from a single Pratt and Whitney F135 engine, the most powerful ever installed in a fighter.
Both options are on the sheet side by side and the builder decides according to how the model is to be built. The difference between dark glass and a lit surface changes the whole feel of the cockpit. A switched-off screen suits a model standing on its gear with the ladder lowered, while the lit version with a tactical picture belongs to a machine captured in action or to a diorama with a running power unit.
Choose in advance which of the two forms you will use and cut out only that one. The second will stay on the sheet as a reserve in case of damage during handling.
