1:48 Lockheed U-2A Dragon Lady In and Out is a masking set from the Dead Design brand for the U-2A reconnaissance aircraft in 1:48 scale. The designation in the name says that it is prepared for masking the glazing from the outer and the inner face.

It is neither a kit nor a part of a model but a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the Lockheed U-2A reconnaissance aircraft in 1:48 scale. The epithet in the name refers to masking from both faces of the glazing - from outside and from inside the cockpit. The particular contents of the package and the number of individual masks are stated on the box of the set.
The U-2A has a fairly small but intricate canopy with pronounced frames. When masking is done only from outside, the untreated inner edges of the frames show through the glass and the cockpit looks unfinished. Masking from both faces gives the frames full covering power and at the same time protects the inside of the glazing from fogging by paint. It is precisely on an aircraft with such a long slender fuselage, where the cockpit is the only prominent glazing, that the difference tells on the finished model.
Degrease the glazing first and let it dry completely. Lift the mask off the backing with fine-pointed tweezers or the point of a scalpel, offer it up dry and only then press it home with a wooden toothpick from the middle outward - the edges have to bear along their whole length, otherwise the paint will run underneath. Curved transitions around the frames are better pressed home in short sections than over the whole area at once. Lay the paint on in thin coats; let the first covering coat be more of a mist, so that not too much material gets under the edge. Take the masks off while the paint is not yet fully cured, and do it at a shallow angle, so that no edge of the finish peels away with them.
It is not a kit. The package holds only the masking set; the model, paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
