The mask set 1:48 Lockheed U-2S from Eduard will help with spraying the frames of the cabin of the high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory of the Eduard brand is meant for building a model of the high-altitude reconnaissance machine U-2S in 1:48 scale. The shapes are cut to the frames of the cabin, so the division of colors arises straight from the spray and does not have to be drawn in with a brush. The kit itself is not included.
The U-2S is the present-day version of the Lockheed U-2R with a General Electric F118 turbofan engine. The aircraft with its huge span works at levels where the pilot sits in a pressure suit, and it has its main landing gear arranged in tandem, with jettisonable supports under the wing. The U-2 family has served long-range reconnaissance since the 1950s, and the S version is its modernized continuation.
Models of the U-2 are most often built in an all-black form. It is exactly on a dark area that every uneven edge of a frame is noticed at once, so a mask helps here more than on colorful camouflage. Level the base with a filler primer and apply the black in two passes; a single heavy coat would bring the unevenness out rather than hide it. At the end even the sheen of the whole surface out, so that the area around the glazing does not stand out. Before you start, look the clear parts over against the light; a flaw in a casting can no longer be corrected under dark paint.
