Replacement landing flaps for a model of the twin-engine Lockheed P-38F or P-38G fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning is an American twin-engine fighter of the Second World War with an unmistakable layout: a pilot nacelle in the middle and two booms at the rear joined by a tailplane. The P-38F and P-38G versions are among the earlier production configurations and differ from the later machines in the details of their equipment.
Replacement landing flaps for a model of the P-38F or P-38G in 1:48 scale. They replace the corresponding parts of the kit, where the thickness of the plastic tends to be too great for the scale. Thinner trailing edges and carefully worked inner surfaces show above all when you display the flaps on a finished model in a position other than closed. The exact number of parts, the extent of the modifications to the kit and the final position of the flaps are given in the instructions from the manufacturer, so go through them before you start cutting into the wing.
First try the parts dry in the wing and adjust the opening so that the flap seats without pressure. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate, and before painting you should wash and degrease them. Paint the inner surfaces of the flaps and of the cutouts in the wing before you fit the flaps, because afterwards you cannot reach them.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
