About product

Metallic Details Luftwaffe WWII Aircrew Parachutes 1:48 (3D printed)

This is an accessory set of 3D-printed resin parachutes of the kind German airmen wore in the Second World War. It is not an aircraft model but a detail set meant for refining and enlivening the cockpits and seats of Luftwaffe fighters and bombers in 1:48 scale. Fine 3D printing faithfully captures the packed parachute and the harness, which are clearly visible on displayed models with an open canopy.

What the set is for

The parachute is fitted into the seat or under the pilot and so completes the realistic impression of an occupied cockpit. The parts suit a whole range of German aircraft from 1939 to 1945, single-seat fighters and multi-seat aircraft alike.

Usage tips

  • Separate the parts carefully from the print supports with a sharp knife or a saw.
  • Before gluing, wash them in lukewarm water with a little detergent and let them dry.
  • Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
  • The harness comes out once painted and lightly brought up with a wash.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers of Luftwaffe aircraft kits with an interest in cockpit detail.
  • Builders who want to improve a standard seat.
  • Collectors who appreciate the fineness of 3D printing.

The set contains resin 3D-printed parts and is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the aircraft model are not included in the package.

FAQ

No. It is an accessory set of 3D-printed parachutes for a cockpit, not a stand-alone model.

Of resin worked by 3D printing. The parts are fine, so careful handling is advised.

Super glue (cyanoacrylate) is best; ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin.
