Modern American tanks carry a quantity of personal and technical equipment on the hull and on the turret baskets, and it is precisely that which tells a photograph from the training ground apart from a shot taken on operations. Black Dog model casts such pieces in resin with the soft folds of fabric that cannot be done in an injection mold. The individual pieces seat onto the turret baskets and the hull of the Tamiya kit.
The M1A2 is a development version of the Abrams tank with a 120 mm smoothbore gun and gas turbine propulsion, which gives the machine unusual acceleration and a characteristic sound. Textiles will take coarser transitions than armor, so here you can afford to bring the edges out more strongly. Apply the desert dust right at the end so that it ties the vehicle and the load into one scene. It works well to lay it on with a wide dry brush from the top down, because that follows the direction in which it settles in reality.
