The M230 is a single-barrel automatic cannon of 30 mm caliber. It got the Chain Gun nickname from the feed mechanism driven by an electric motor through a chain, which keeps the rounds coming reliably even at a high rate of fire. It is best known as the gun armament of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, where it hangs in a traversing mount under the nose and is linked to the crew's sighting system. On a model that is exactly the feature you cannot miss from below.
The barrel, the mount and the traversing mechanism are complex in shape and come out soft in a kit, often with a parting line running the whole length of the barrel.
