An add-on set in 1:48 from the Czech manufacturer Brengun. The package contains two M26 illumination bombs. It is not an aircraft model and not a kit: the set serves to complete the external stores of a model already being built in the same scale. The parts are of resin or plastic; the material is given on the packaging.
Illumination bombs were dropped from aircraft to light up the ground during night operations, search flights and target marking. In design terms they are a cylindrical body with a parachute, which ignites after release and a delay and descends slowly toward the ground. Stores of this type were carried on wing and fuselage pylons, and on slower machines in larger numbers as well.
Separate the parts carefully from the casting blocks with a sharp cutter or a fine saw. Wash resin castings in warm water with detergent before painting so that any mold release agent is removed, otherwise the paint will not hold. Bond with cyanoacrylate glue, and plastic parts with cement for plastic. Sand wet and protect your airway. Apply a primer before painting; small cylindrical shapes take paint well from an airbrush and are touched in with a brush.
The set is an accessory for a model in 1:48. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
