This is a detail accessory, not a model in itself. The set holds photo-etched parts for finishing the exterior of the American M4A3E8 Sherman medium tank, nicknamed the Easy Eight, in 1:48 scale. It replaces simplified plastic elements with a finer treatment in metal.
Photo-etched metal makes it possible to render thin grilles, grab handles, tool holders, light guards and other details that cannot be made faithfully in injection-molded plastic. In the small 1:48 scale the level of work on the hull and the superstructure therefore rises markedly.
Part the pieces from the fret, make the bends you need in a bender or over a sharp edge, and glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a small amount. Lay a primer for metal on before painting; handle the patina and the emphasis of the details with a wash and with pigments for dust and mud effects.
This is an accessory to a model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
