The widest grade of the mask set for building the A-4 Skyhawk in 1:48 scale in the B, C, L and SU versions. Compared with the basic version, which handles mainly the canopy glazing, the EXPERT grade covers more masked places. Anyone who wants the masking of a model solved with one item and does not want to cut anything out themselves will reach for the higher grade.
The frames of a cockpit can in theory be painted over with a brush, but the result shows: the paint will not hold a straight line and the coat is thicker than the surrounding spray. A frame sprayed through a mask blends in with the rest of the model, because it has the same texture and the same sheen as the whole surface. Another point in favor of masks is that the glazing stays protected for the duration of the build.
Degrease the surface, move the mask with tweezers and press it down from the center to the edges. Spray thinned paint in thin coats, ideally after a light overspray in the interior shade, which hides any creep. Lift the mask off soon after it has dried, slowly and at a sharp angle. Store the unused parts of the sheet flat on their backing paper in an envelope, away from heat and light; the adhesive will then stay serviceable even after a long time.
The package holds only the masks. A kit and paints are not part of it.
