A masking set from the Czech maker New Ware for A-4 Skyhawk models in 1:48 scale, intended for spraying the classic gray and white finish. The masks are machine-cut from kabuki tape (thin yellow washi paper), which follows the shape of the areas, holds a sharp edge and leaves no adhesive when lifted off. The set helps to lay out the areas of the individual color fields and of the white details exactly.
The set deals with the color division of the fuselage, not with the cockpit glazing. Spray the lighter (white) area first, let it dry, close it off with a mask and move on to the gray. Degrease the surface before applying and press the edges of the masks down carefully, so that paint cannot creep under them.
The A-4 Skyhawk is an American light carrier attack aircraft. The gray and white finish with its prominent white underside and polished metal was typical of many US Navy machines and of foreign users.
This is a masking accessory for painting, not a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
