A specialized masking set from the Czech maker New Ware for F-111 models in 1:48 scale, aimed at the engine exhaust nozzles. The masks are machine-cut from kabuki tape (thin yellow washi), which follows the shape and holds a sharp sprayed edge. The set makes it easier to separate the metal nozzle petals cleanly in color from the surrounding surface.
The nozzles usually call for different metal shades than the fuselage, and the masks let these areas be separated without paint bleeding. Degrease the surface, lay the mask on and press the edges down. With metal and metallic paints spray thin coats and remove the mask shortly after it has dried.
The F-111 is an American tactical bomber with a variable-geometry wing, powered by a pair of afterburning turbojets. The circular exhaust nozzles with their movable petals are a visually prominent feature of the rear of the aircraft.
