A self-adhesive cut mask for the model of the trainer L-29 Delfin in 1:48 scale. The EXPERT grade is the most complete version of the range, so besides the glazing the set covers further masked surfaces of the model as well. The parts are cut to fit a particular kit; nothing has to be measured or trimmed.
The L-29 Delfin was a jet trainer developed in Czechoslovakia at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s and built at Aero Vodochody. The crew sat in tandem, with the instructor's rear seat set higher for the sake of the view out. The aircraft became the standard trainer in many countries and in civilian hands it still flies today.
A two-seat cockpit means a long glazed canopy with a large number of frames, and that on both sides of the fuselage. Masking so many sections by hand is not only slow but, above all, inconsistent; small differences in width show up immediately on a finished model. A cut set gives all the frames the same width even where the canopy narrows. When applying them, work from the fixed frame toward the rear and first lay each part on without pressing, so that you can see whether it follows on from its neighbor.
This is a masking accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
