Resin covers for the intake openings of the Soviet fighter Mikoyan MiG-29A in 1:48 scale by the manufacturer Quickboost. It is not an aircraft model but a precisely cast detail part with which you blank off the main engine intakes of a machine standing on the ground.
The MiG-29 (Fulcrum in the NATO code) is a twin-engine fighter that entered service with the Soviet Air Force in the 1980s. It was powered by a pair of RD-33 engines. To prevent foreign object damage (FOD) on the ground, the main intakes were closed with protective covers. The resin covers make it possible to build a model in a faithful ground configuration with the intakes closed and with no view into empty intake ducts.
Resin parts call for more careful preparation: wash them free of mold release agent in lukewarm water with dish soap, separate them carefully from the casting block and glue them with cyanoacrylate; protect your airways when sanding. Paint the covers in a warning shade (often red) with any lettering or stripes according to the subject, so that they stand out on the model.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
