Eduard masking stripes 0.5 / 0.8 / 1.3 mm

This is a general-purpose masking material from Eduard, that is, a modeling accessory for painting. The package contains very narrow self-adhesive masking stripes in three widths: 0.5 mm, 0.8 mm and 1.3 mm. Take care not to confuse it: it is not a masking set for the glazing of a particular aircraft, as the stripes have no predefined shape. They are used wherever you need to bound a thin line.

Use

• Thin lines and trim: identification bands, leading edges, outlining panels, the frames of small vision ports and lights.
• Camouflage dividing lines: you lay the stripe exactly along the boundary between two shades and get a sharp transition that wide tape cut by hand cannot follow.
• Soft (feathered) transitions: you lift the stripe above the surface or pack it out, so the paint blows slightly under it and a controlled, softened edge appears.
• Hard-to-reach edges: a narrow stripe gets into a corner, around raised parts and into places where wide tape would have to be laboriously cut to shape.
• Arcs and curves: this is the main point. Wide tape crumples and lifts when bent into an arc; a narrow stripe bends into a curve without creasing, so it holds along its whole area and no paint runs under it.

Who it is for

For anyone who sprays with an airbrush and runs into the limits of ordinary masking tape, typically on aircraft with camouflage that has hard boundaries, on striping, and on vehicles and figures too. The stripes are taken off only as needed, so it is a supply of material for many builds ahead.

It is neither a model nor a kit. Paints, glue and a kit are not included in the package. Always remove the tape once the paint has dried, so that the edge is not damaged.
