Matra R-550 Magic 2 1:48 is a resin supplementary set from the company Eduard with models of French infrared air-to-air missiles of short range, intended for the detailing of aircraft models in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an aftermarket set in resin, not a model of an airplane in its own right. The package holds models of the French Matra R-550 Magic 2 missiles together with adapters and racks for fastening them under the wing or the fuselage. The set replaces the simpler plastic parts from the base kit and serves for the realistic filling out of the stores of models in 1:48 scale.
The Matra R-550 Magic 2 is a French air-to-air guided missile of short range with infrared guidance. It followed on from the older Magic 1 and a whole range of machines of Western and international origin carried it, among others the Mirage fighters. The front control surfaces and the compact body optimized for close combat are characteristic.
First wash the parts clean of the remains of the mold release agent from the mold. Carefully cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces, ideally with protection of the airways. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting we recommend laying a primer on; it is good to glue the fine surfaces and the sensors on only after the base paint has been sprayed.
This is a supplementary set in resin. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
