The set holds four MER-7 multiple bomb racks made by 3D printing from resin. They serve as an aftermarket accessory for combat aircraft models in 1:48 scale, letting several bombs be hung on a single pylon. The fine printing captures the structure of the beam and the ejector locks. The package holds no aircraft model.
A multiple ejector rack (MER) allows several bombs to be carried on one station and so increases the load of an aircraft. This American design was widely used on machines such as the A-4 Skyhawk, the A-7 Corsair II, the F-4 Phantom II and the F-105, and it became a symbol of tactical bombing.
Separate the parts from the print supports, wash the print resin residue off them and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand with respiratory protection. Prime the rack, spray it with an airbrush and bring out the detail of the locks with a wash.
The set holds resin parts only. An aircraft model, bombs, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
