Eduard 1:35 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 TFace — a double-sided mask set contains templates for the outer and the inner side of the glazing of a large-scale model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A double-sided mask set for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter in 1:35. The TFace marking means that besides templates for the outer face of the glazing the package also holds templates for its inner side — the cockpit frame can then be painted in the top shade outside and in the interior shade inside. It is not a photo-etched set; these are masks that come off after spraying.
The Bf 109G-6 is a variant of the single-engined fighter with a liquid-cooled inverted V12 engine. The bulged fairings over the synchronized guns ahead of the cockpit are characteristic; the shape of the vertical tail surface and the pattern of the canopy changed in the course of production. In the large 1:35 scale the cockpit frame is prominent enough that you can even tell whether it is painted on the inside — and that is exactly what the double-sided version is for.
Work in two steps. First stick the inner templates on, spray the interior shade and let it dry. Only then come the outer masks and the top color. The glazing has to be clean and degreased before the masks go on, and the edges of the templates should be pressed down with a blunt tool. Apply the paint thinly and in several coats. The inner masks also protect a finished interior from overspray. Take all the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, pulling along the edge rather than straight up.
This is an add-on to a model, not a kit in its own right. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
