Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the Messerschmitt Me 262A jet fighter. An accessory for a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter to reach series production and combat use. You will recognize it by the triangular cross-section of the fuselage, the slightly swept wing and the two engine nacelles beneath it; the nosewheel landing gear was unusual on German fighters of the time. The main armament was concentrated in the nose, so the fire was not spread out to the sides. The A version covered fighter and fighter-bomber variants, which differed in equipment and armament.
These are photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale meant to complete a finished kit. The parts are etched from thin metal sheet and are held on a carrier fret. Photo-etch makes it possible to render belts, buckles, grilles and thin sheet reinforcements in a thickness an injection-molded part cannot reach. Which parts the set contains and which kit it is adapted to is given in the enclosed instructions.
Cut the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with pliers, and sand the remains of the tab down. Make the bends along the marked score line, ideally in a bending tool or between two blades. Bond with tiny drops of super glue, as polystyrene cement will not join metal. Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and cover them with a primer. Finish everything that goes into the cockpit or inside the fuselage before you close the assembly up.
The set is for modelers with experience of photo-etch who want to take a Me 262 model to a higher level of detail. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
