A photo-etched accessory set for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter in 1:48 scale, cut for the Weekend range kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 was the most numerous version of the most widespread German fighter of the Second World War. You tell it from the older G series machines by the prominent bulges on the cowling, which the breeches of the large-caliber machine guns mounted ahead of the cockpit called for. Besides them the aircraft could carry a cannon firing through the propeller hub and, according to its task, additional armament in gondolas under the wing. The G-6 version served on all fronts and was built in many production forms, so machines differ from one another in details.
These are photo-etched parts of thin metal sheet. Metal holds a thickness that injection-molded plastic cannot manage, so straps, instrument frames, levers and fine facings look more convincing once painted than the plastic originals. The Weekend designation in the name says which kit the set is cut for. The exact composition of the fret and which plastic parts are removed before fitting are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts out with a sharp blade on a hard surface, so that no burr is left, and make the bends over a metal edge or in a bending tool. It is bonded with super glue applied in a minute drop; ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Before painting, degrease the sheet and spray a coat of primer.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
