A sheet of technical stencils in 1:48 scale for the Polish MiG-15 and MiG-17 and their license-built Lim-1/2/5/6 and SBLim-1/2 versions, in the late form of the lettering.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-15 and MiG-17 were among the most widespread jet fighters of the 1950s and 1960s. Poland built them under license with designations of its own: the Lim-1 and Lim-2 correspond to the MiG-15 family, the Lim-5 and Lim-6 to the MiG-17 family, and the SBLim abbreviation belongs to the two-seat trainers. They stayed in the inventory for a long time, and over those years the form of the small stencils on the airframe changed.
The sheet carries technical stencils in 1:48 scale, that is the service and warning lettering scattered on the real machine over the fuselage, the wing, the landing gear bays and around the access panels. It covers the late form of this lettering as it looked in the later period of service and is common to the whole family of machines listed. Which elements belong to which version is given by the instructions supplied with the sheet.
The lettering goes on only over a finished paint job sealed with gloss varnish; otherwise a matte mark from the backing is left around the print. Cut the element out closely, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest; slide it off the backing onto a drop of water, align it and blot the water away. A decal softener will settle the stencil into the engraved lines and over the rivets. Work in small groups and keep checking the position against the instructions, because there are a great many small elements on the sheet. Seal the whole model at the end.
For builders of jet equipment who want a model finished down to the details, and for anyone interested in the Polish Air Force. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
