A resin ejection seat with seat belts for the MiG-17 in 1:48 scale from Quickboost — a precise cockpit accessory, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin ejection seat with cast seat belts for the Soviet MiG-17 jet fighter in 1:48 scale from Quickboost. It is not a model of an aircraft but a precise replacement part for experienced modelers, which takes the place of the simplified seat from the kit and lifts the fidelity of the cockpit at a stroke. The casting captures the fine relief of the straps, the buckles and the shell that is hard to achieve in plastic.
The MiG-17 was a widespread Soviet subsonic fighter of the 1950s which followed on from the successful MiG-15 and served with dozens of countries around the world. The seat is clearly visible under its slid-back canopy, so it is worth concentrating on. The part is intended as a refinement of an existing MiG-17 model in the same scale, not as a kit in its own right.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting block under the seat off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and sand the surface down; protect your airways when sanding resin. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) — ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Spray the seat with a base color, bring the belts out in a different shade and pick the buckles out with dry brushing; a light wash will deepen the detail.
Supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for detailing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
