The Eduard Big Ed set for the MiG-17F in 1:48 scale: a bundled package of accessories for a model of the Soviet jet fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft kit but accessory goods for a model that you buy separately. Big Ed is the Eduard designation for a bundled package, that is, an item made up of several separate accessories for one type. Check the particular make-up of the bundle against the list on the packaging.
The MiG-17F is a single-seat single-engine jet fighter and the most widespread version of the MiG-17. The letter F designates the form with an engine fitted with an afterburner, thanks to which the aircraft gained noticeably better climb and acceleration than the original variant. Its armament was cannon placed under the front part of the fuselage. The airframe is based on the design of the MiG-15 but has a reworked, more strongly swept wing with a sharper sweep angle and a revised rear fuselage. The type was produced in enormous numbers and under license outside the Soviet Union as well.
Fit the accessories for the pilot's compartment and the bays while the model is still open, before the fuselage is closed up. Bend the photo-etched parts in a bender and glue them with cyanoacrylate applied in a minimal amount. On the silvery and natural metal surfaces typical of this type, lay the metallic shades on at the very end, as they are harder to overspray and to mask and every repair shows on them.
