A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set from Quickboost (Aires) brings a correctly shaped ventral fin (the lower fin) of the Soviet MiG-17F jet fighter, NATO reporting name Fresco C, in 1:48 scale. The small fin under the rear fuselage increased directional stability; some kits have it shaped inaccurately and this part replaces it with a faithful rendering.
The ventral fin is small, but seen from the side and from behind it does a great deal to define the silhouette of the aircraft. Replacing the inaccurate plastic part with a casting of the correct outline and section raises the accuracy of the whole rear end. The casting has sharp edges and a clean shape that the plastic from the box does not always achieve.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
