A resin cockpit set from the Czech maker Aires. It replaces the pilot's compartment of a plastic kit with a detailed casting carrying the instrument panel, the cockpit sidewalls, the ejection seat and the controls. It is intended for more experienced modelers and is built into a model of the MiG-21MF aircraft in 1:48 scale.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 was a Soviet supersonic fighter with a characteristic delta wing, built in large numbers. The MiG-21MF version was one of the widespread forms and served with a number of air forces around the world, including the Czechoslovak one.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the mating surfaces. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways when sanding resin. Lay down a primer before painting; the details are best brought out by building up layers with a fine brush, and the larger surfaces with an airbrush.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
