Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21SMT supersonic fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The model has finely engraved structure, a detailed cockpit and clear glazing; the large 1:48 format lets the characteristic slender fuselage and the external stores show to advantage. The exact contents of the package and the number of schemes differ from release to release, so check them on the particular box.
The MiG-21 was one of the most widely used supersonic fighters in history, operated by dozens of countries. The SMT version was among the later upgrades: it received a more powerful engine, a radar and above all a markedly enlarged dorsal spine with a greater fuel load, which increased its range. This silhouette sets the SMT apart from the older MiG-21 variants at a glance.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Assemble and paint the cockpit first, then close the fuselage. Use a primer. Mask the canopy glazing with tape and paint the frames separately. Paint the pylons and the weapons separately before fitting. An airbrush and a final wash in the engraved lines suit the Soviet camouflage schemes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
