A resin exhaust nozzle for the MiG-23, NATO reporting name Flogger, in 1:48 scale from Aires, rendered in the open, spread position. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified nozzle from the kit with a faithfully cast part detailed on the petals inside and out. The open position matches the engine running on the ground or at maximum thrust.
The MiG-23 was a single-engine fighter with a variable-sweep wing, used widely in many countries. The rear end with the exhaust nozzle is one of the prominent areas to look at, and accurate detail there visibly raises the quality of a model. This set is offered in the open position; Aires offers the closed-position version as a separate set.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand with your airways protected. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before gluing it in, check the fit against the rear fuselage of the kit. Apply metallic shades and sooting in fine coats and emphasize the detail of the petals with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
