This set brings a resin vertical tail (fin) with a more correct shape for the Soviet fighter MiG-23 in the MF and ML versions in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a correction accessory that fixes the inaccurate outline or profile of the fin in some kits and adds more faithful surface and leading edge detail.
The MiG-23 was a Soviet single-engine machine with a variable-sweep wing and a prominent tall vertical tail. Between the individual versions the shape and the details of the fin and of the ventral fin changed gradually; the MF and ML versions were among the most widespread.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or break them off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate. Cut the original fin off the kit according to the instructions and level the seating face carefully so that the new surface sits square and without gaps. Fill and sand the transitions if necessary, then bring the surface detail out with a fine wash.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
