This resin accessory from Quickboost brings exactly cast exhaust nozzles with covers for a model of the Soviet Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part that will replace the simplified nozzles from the box with more accurate castings with the correct shape and fine detail of the petals and the inner covers.

What the part is for

The MiG-29 is a twin-engine fighter powered by a pair of afterburning engines; its exhaust nozzles have characteristic segmented petals and additional covers. The rear end with the nozzles is very much on view and the plastic parts from the box tend to be simplified in shape. An accurate casting with the correct petal geometry gives the model a realistic look at the exhaust end.

Usage tips

First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent because of mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Check the fit before gluing; bring out the inside of the nozzles with burnt metallic shades and a fine wash into the petals.
