This set holds technical stenciling, that is, stencils, for a MiG-29 model in 1:48 scale. These are the small service and warning legends that a real aircraft carries all over its surface, not national insignia or fuselage numbers. The package holds no kit and no parts. Stenciling is the last layer a model gets, and yet it changes the most. Without it even a carefully painted airframe looks like a toy; with it the model suddenly gains its scale. On the MiG-29 that shows well around the air intakes, on the wing and around the cockpit, where the real aircraft carries the most legends. A set of this kind is therefore usually bought as a complement to a sheet with the main markings of a particular machine.
Apply the stenciling only after the main markings and always onto a gloss intermediate coat. Divide the model into sections and finish one section at a time, otherwise you will lose your place. Use tweezers with fine jaws and a pointed brush, dampen the area in advance and seat the decal exactly the first time, because a small motif will stand only a little moving. Apply the softener sparingly, since a heavy layer wrinkles a small legend and makes it illegible. Once dry, rinse the adhesive off and seal the model with a matte or semi-matte varnish.
The package holds only decals with legends. The kit, the paints and the varnishes are not part of it.
