Injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy Mikoyan MiG-31 B/BS Foxhound interceptor in 1:48 scale from SIO Models, a newer producer of premium kits. This release combines quality plastic parts with 3D-printed elements (among them the landing gear, exhaust nozzles and ejection seats) and adds photo-etched parts and painting masks.
The MiG-31 Foxhound is a Soviet and later Russian two-seat supersonic interceptor built to destroy air targets at long range and at high altitude. It is one of the fastest combat aircraft ever built and carries a powerful onboard radar and long-range guided missiles. The crew consists of a pilot and a weapon systems officer. The machine was created as a more capable successor to the older MiG-25 and to this day forms the backbone of Russian air defense.
First separate the 3D-printed parts carefully from their supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate (super glue); glue the plastic parts with liquid cement for plastic. Assemble and paint the two-seat cockpit with its seats before closing the fuselage. Mask the canopy glazing so that it stays clear, and pay attention to the external stores and the guided missiles. We recommend a primer, an airbrush and panel lines picked out with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
