An accessory set of entry stairs for a model of the Mil Mi-8MT or Mi-17 helicopter in 1:48 scale. It replaces the kit part with a separate, more finely rendered one.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mil Mi-8MT and its export version the Mi-17 are among the most widespread helicopters in the world. They carry troops and cargo, serve for casualty evacuation and work in civilian service. Boarding the cabin is made easier for crew and passengers by stairs at the forward door, which are clearly apparent on the real machine and, with the door open, form a prominent part of the fuselage silhouette.
The set replaces the entry stairs of the Mi-8MT or Mi-17 helicopter in 1:48 scale with a separate part. It pays off mainly where you are building a model with the doors open and the stairs are visible at first glance. Before buying, compare the dimensions with the model you are building.
The parts are not made of polystyrene, and ordinary cement for plastic models will not join them. Use cyanoacrylate glue, and with a larger glued area preferably a slower type, so that time is left for lining the part up. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder back carefully, so as not to damage the thin steps and their edges. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly and rubs off during handling. The particular procedure for this set is in the manufacturer's instructions.
It is meant for modelers who want to bring out the place on a helicopter that every viewer looks at first, that is, the open door into the cargo compartment.
The helicopter kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
