An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Dassault Mirage IVP strategic bomber in 1:48 scale from Heller. It is an older tooling with raised panel lines - the model therefore has a period level of detail and an experienced hand suits it best for the finest result. Check the exact contents of the box and the decals against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Mirage IV was a French supersonic strategic bomber developed from the design of the Mirage III fighter, and it first flew in 1959. It formed the airborne element of the French nuclear deterrent. The IVP version came out of a modernization and carried the supersonic ASMP guided missile with a nuclear warhead, or else the CT52 reconnaissance pod with cameras and an infrared system. The two-seat, twin-engined delta-winged machine served until the 1990s, and even longer in the reconnaissance role.
With an older tooling, expect more careful fitting, filling of gaps and possibly rescribing the panel lines after sanding. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and attach the glazing with canopy glue. French machines usually wore a bare metal or light finish; after the gloss coat and the decals, pick out the panel lines with a wash sparingly so that the model looks realistic.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
