A photo-etched detail set for the Mitsubishi A6M Zero 1:48 from Tamiya is an accessory for refining a build, not a stand-alone aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched metal parts intended for improving plastic models of the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter in 1:48 scale. The manufacturer is Tamiya. It should be said right at the start that this is not an aircraft kit - the package contains no plastic model, only accessory parts that are fitted into a kit you already own. The particular composition of the set and the number of parts are given on the manufacturer's packaging.
Photo-etched metal is considerably thinner than injection-molded plastic and is therefore used where plastic looks too heavy: on thin sheet metal, grilles, straps, frames and small cockpit fittings. The result is a finer and more accurate look to scale in exactly the places a viewer notices first on a finished model.
Cut the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with nippers - the metal would otherwise deform. Make the bends along the scored lines, ideally in a bending tool or at least between two blades or a steel ruler. Degrease the metal before painting and cover it with primer, otherwise the paint will not hold. It is bonded with super glue applied in a minimal amount; with tiny parts a wooden stick or a piece of wire helps as an applicator. Work over a surface with a raised edge, as parts that fly off are hard to find.
This is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
