The Mitsubishi Ki-46 Shitei III double-sided mask Art Scale 1:48 is a set of precisely pre-cut self-adhesive masks in kabuki tape from the Czech manufacturer Art Scale. It contains neither a model nor paint: it serves for fast, clean masking of the cockpit glazing and, as a rule, of the wheels as well when spraying. The double-sided version masks the outside and the inside of the glazing, so the cockpit frames can be painted on the visible side too.
The Mitsubishi Ki-46, nicknamed Dinah by the Allies, was a Japanese twin-engine reconnaissance aircraft of the Second World War, valued for its aerodynamically clean lines, its speed and its range. The Shitei III version had a reworked nose with smooth glazing. The long glazed cockpit with its many frames is one of the most laborious parts of the build, and this set speeds it up considerably.
The set is intended for the Tamiya kit of the Ki-46 Shitei III in 1:48 scale; the dimensions match its glazing. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
