A conical tail extension and a protective coating on the casing: 1:48 MK-82 with thermal protection and the MAU-93 fin, armament from the brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez.
Responsibility details are not available.
The most widespread American unguided bomb in the form for releases from greater altitudes: a smooth conical tail instead of retarding surfaces, and a protective coating on the casing. The stores complete a finished model and do not represent an aircraft on their own.
The five-hundred-pound MK-82 is the most used member of the Mark 80 series and at the same time the basis for a whole generation of guided weapons: it was precisely from it that laser-guided and satellite-guided kits came into being. The choice of tail decides the method of use: a conical extension keeps drag low and lets the bomb fly far along a ballistic path, whereas a retarding tail assembly that opens out slows it for an attack from very low level. The roughened coating on the casing has to do with the safety of storage on the decks of aircraft carriers, and you recognize it by a lighter, coarser surface against bare metal.
Smooth cylindrical bodies call for a really level undercoat: even a small groove left by sanding is visible after spraying. Lay down a primer first, then the covering shade. The texture of the protective layer stands out when you spray it from a distance, so that the paint lands dry. The colored bands at the seeker head can be suggested with thin tape.
The castings are unpainted and the chemicals for the build you obtain separately, unless stated otherwise.
