A resin detail set from the manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale, BRASSIN range. It is not a kit but a set of American Mk.20 Rockeye II aircraft cluster bombs for realistically arming an aircraft model. The castings capture the bomb body and the tail unit and tend to be complemented by photo-etched parts and stenciling decals.
The Mk.20 Rockeye II is an American aircraft cluster bomb intended against armored vehicles. After release the canister opens at a set altitude and disperses a large number of small shaped-charge submunitions that cover an area with vehicles. The bomb was carried by combat aircraft of the US Navy, the US Marine Corps and the US Air Force from the Vietnam War to later conflicts.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond both resin and fine photo-etched parts with super glue. The bomb body is sprayed in a single shade; the color bands and the markings are completed with the enclosed decals and the detail is picked out with a dark wash.
This is an armament accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
