Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of external stores in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Brengun. This is not a kit of an aircraft or a finished model, but a separate accessory depicting the Mk.XVII depth charge, that is the weapon carried by naval patrol and anti-submarine aircraft. How many pieces the package contains, and whether mounts are included as well, is stated on the box of the set.
A depth charge is an anti-submarine store dropped from a low height. Its effect is based on the pressure wave of the explosion under the surface, and the depth pistol set before the drop decides it. The aerial rendering differs in shape from the naval one, as it was given aerodynamic fairing and stabilizing surfaces so that after separation from the aircraft it would fly stably and fall at a suitable angle. For modelers it is a typical feature of the armament of naval and coastal aviation machines, which on a model determines their role immediately.
Wash the resin castings with warm water and detergent before building, so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting block off with a saw and sand the remainder down wet. On cylindrical shapes a flat area is easily sanded where there should not be one, so lead the abrasive paper around the circumference and check the outline against the light as you go. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Underwing stores look best when you spray them separately from the model and fit them only to a finished and clear-coated underside of the airframe. The painting procedure, that is primer, a base shade, a thin wash into the dividing joints and fine scuffs on the edges with a dry brush, gives the charge a three-dimensional look even without complicated weathering.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
