1:48 Nakajima B6N1/B6N2 Tenzan National Insignias is a set of national insignia masks for models of the Japanese B6N carrier-based torpedo aircraft in 1:48 scale. According to the name it covers both of the versions given, the B6N1 and the B6N2.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory from the Dead Design brand in 1:48 scale, not a kit. The masks serve for spraying the national insignia onto a finished paint job. The name gives both versions of the subject, so the set is not tied to just one of them. The particular number of markings and sizes is not stated here.
This is an argument often overlooked with decals. A decal has its own sheen, set by its film and by the varnish it was printed in, and that will never match your paintwork exactly. The result is a marking that shines on matte carrier camouflage even when it is right in color. To even that out, the whole model has to be gone over with a unifying clear coat. A sprayed marking does not need that step, because it is of the same paint and the same binder as everything around it.
Brushwork evens out the sheen too, but it will not keep the line. On two versions of one type you also often build both models side by side, and any difference in the size or shape of the marking then comes to the surface. A mask gives both builds identical markings.
Carrier aircraft are usually built in matte shades, so wait with the masking until the finish has fully cured, otherwise the matte film will come away with the mask. Spray the red over a thin light base. Take the mask off with tweezers slowly and at an angle. When you are done, a light clear coat is enough, if you want one for the weathering.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
