Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese single-engine interceptor Nakajima Ki-44 Shoki, known to the Allies by the code name Tojo. The model in 1:48 scale comes from the Japanese brand Hasegawa and represents the late II Hei subversion. The package contains plastic parts, a decal sheet and building instructions.
The Nakajima Ki-44 Shoki, meaning demon queller, was a single-seat fighter of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force, designed as a fast interceptor intended to catch and destroy enemy bombers. Against the agile but lightly built Japanese fighters that prevailed at the time, the Shoki bet on high speed, a steep climb and a rugged structure at the expense of maneuverability. It was powered by a powerful radial engine and carried heavy armament. The Ki-44-II Hei version was among the most heavily armed renderings.
Paint and fit the cockpit with the pilot seat and the instrument panel before you close the fuselage halves — once they are glued, it is hard to reach. Masking the cockpit glazing is recommended for clean framing. Seat the radial engine and the cowling, the landing gear bays and any underwing stores carefully. Use thin modeling cement for gluing the plastic, apply a primer before painting and spray the shades with an airbrush. Gray-green and brown-green camouflage with national markings is typical of Japanese army finishes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
