An injection-molded plastic kit of the Mustang Mk.III fighter in 1:48 scale from Eduard — the British designation of the American P-51B/C in RAF and Allied squadron service.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Mustang Mk.III fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Mustang Mk.III was the British designation of the American P-51B/C, the version with the sharply stepped, framed canopy, unlike the later teardrop version. Depending on the edition the plastic tends to come with photo-etched parts and a painting mask, and the package offers several color schemes of RAF and Allied (among others Polish) squadron machines. Check the exact contents and the number of markings against the actual box.
The North American P-51B/C Mustang was the version of the famous fighter with the British Rolls-Royce Merlin engine built under license as a Packard, thanks to which the Mustang gained excellent performance at altitude and great range. In the RAF it served under the designation Mustang Mk.III as an escort fighter and as a fighter-bomber; Polish squadrons in British service flew it as well. Typical of it is the original canopy, which some pilots replaced with the bulged Malcolm Hood type.
Finish and color the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Mask the glazing with the enclosed masks. Natural metal surfaces come out over a smooth, sanded base and a gloss primer; spray camouflaged RAF machines with an airbrush over a primer. Pick the panel lines out with a wash and seat the decals over a gloss clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories beyond the contents of the package are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
