North American P-51D-5 Mustang LööK 1:48 is a set of the LööK line from Eduard — a ready-made instrument panel with glazed dials and steel seat belts. It is not a kit or a mask.

LööK is the Eduard line in which the instrument panel is not supplied as a set of photo-etched layers to be glued together, but as a ready-made three-dimensional part with the instruments in color and imitation glass. The result has a depth and sheen that photo-etch or a decal will not produce, and the fitting takes a few minutes. Seat belts in the STEEL form belong with the panel — steel is more springy than brass and holds its shape once bent, so a belt can drape freely over a seat. An important distinction: this is not a full photo-etched set covering the whole interior, nor is it the masks for the glazing that Eduard sells as a separate product.
The North American P-51D Mustang was an American single-seat long-range fighter, key to escorting bomber formations over Europe. The D-5 block was among the earliest batches of the D version with the bubble cockpit canopy and differed from the later machines in details of the tail surfaces. Thanks to the generously glazed canopy, the Mustang's cockpit is visible from all around a model, so the fitting of the interior shows very markedly in the final sight.
First sand the molded relief of the instrument panel off the plastic part, so that the new panel seats flush and does not push the canopy out. Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water. It is glued with super glue applied in the smallest of amounts; its fumes can fog the glossy glass, so glue sparingly and let it air. Fold the belts in small steps and run them irregularly, not taut — it is precisely the casual run of a belt that looks realistic. The panel is ready-made and is neither painted nor clear coated.
It is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
