An imitation of a proven Soviet bomb whose caliber of 250 kg is given right in the name. You are getting the armament on its own, and the kit of the aircraft is a matter of your own choice. The casting suits in particular where you want to show heavier ordnance under the wing and thus set your model apart from those that carry only light stores.
The designation OFAB refers to a combined effect, that is, fragmentation together with blast. While purely high-explosive ordnance works mainly by the pressure wave, this type also scatters splinters, and it therefore came into its own against personnel and unprotected equipment. Ordnance of the heavier category made up an ordinary load on Soviet and Russian ground-attack and bomber machines, and hanging it changes the overall impression of a finished piece of work markedly.
Degrease it, dry it and cut the casting block off, leading the cut rather farther from the body and sanding the remainder down. The fins of the tail unit tend to be thin, so watch where you put your hand while handling it. Apply a uniform shade over the primer and emphasize the boundary of the bands and the attachment lugs with fine removable shading. Cyanoacrylate glue will manage the joining, and wipe any excess off at once.
