The 1:48 OV-10 Bronco F.O.D. covers are resin covers for the intakes of the powerplant of an OV-10 Bronco model in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand. It is a ground accessory for a kit, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a kit but a resin set of covers of the kind fitted to real machines while they stand on the ground. The abbreviation F.O.D. stands for protection against foreign objects entering the powerplant. For a model that means two things at once: the aircraft gains a clear ground situation and, at the same time, the places that would otherwise have to be laboriously hollowed out and shaded disappear. Quickboost is an accessory line of the Czech manufacturer Aires aimed at small accessories with a quick installation.
The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a pair of tail booms, meant for reconnaissance, forward air control and light attack. Protective covers belong to the ordinary ground equipment the machine stands with between flights.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and true the mating surfaces up by wet sanding. The covers do not have to be glued fast, and the model can then be displayed without them as well. If you do fix them, a drop of cyanoacrylate glue is enough. They are usually painted in striking warning shades so that they stand out well on the aircraft, and it is exactly there that a primer pays off, because deep reds and oranges cover badly on bare resin.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
