A set of resin underwing pylons for a model of the OV-10D Bronco in 1:48 scale. This is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory: the castings will replace the corresponding plastic parts of the kit and offer thinner walls, sharper edges and a cleaner surface, which injection-molded plastic cannot manage on a feature this small.
The OV-10D was a later version of the Bronco adapted for night observation and light strike tasks with the US Marine Corps. It can be told from the early versions above all by the modified forward fuselage with sensor equipment. The basic concept stayed the same: a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with tail booms, a good view from the tandem cockpit and the ability to work from improvised surfaces. The external stores are among the characteristic features of the aircraft's silhouette, so on a model it pays to give them attention.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry, so that no mold release agent is left on the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc and sand the traces left by them down, ideally wet and with respiratory protection. Resin dust is very fine, and a respirator or at least a mask is in order. For gluing use super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate. Once it has cured, apply a primer, which will even the resin out with the surrounding plastic and reveal small scratches that would otherwise be emphasized under the paint.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
